Bathtub weekend has been my favorite weekend of the year in Nanaimo since I was a little kid. I love heading downtown to listen to live music during the summer months. I saw Flannel Jimmy at the pavillion in Swy a Lana lagoon and the show ended up meaning a lot to me. About ten years ago Andrew Babuin, who was on lead vocals and guitar, basically took me under his wing and showed me how to be a professional musician. The drummer Ryan Stewart produced my first two records and has worked with me on a couple songs for the last two. This year I played 3 shows during the weekend. Friday and Saturday night I played at the Nanaimo Bar with Anatol and Matt. Both shows were great with a lot of folks down for the festivities and fireworks. On Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of playing the pavillion as part of the Bathtub Fest with Anatol. It’s one of my favourite shows to play each year. I love this town.
